Where: The Maynard High School Playing Field / Track. Rts. 117 / 27, in Maynard.
When: Sunday, September 9, 2007
9:45 -10:15 am: Massage Team sets up on the Great Road side of the Playing Field,
by the stone Field House, across the street from the Boys and Girls Club.
You can drive up to the gate and unload your gear, and then park your car. If you
come early, you may get a parking spot just across the street from the Field
House in the Boys and Girls Club parking lot.
In the event of rain, we will work inside the Boys & Girls Club across the street from the race.
Come early, network, share and learn from other therapists.
10:15 am: Sports Massage Demonstration / Refresher. Review techniques to protect
yourself while working.
Please be present for the review/demonstration if you have never worked a race
before.
11:00 am: Runner Registration.
Therapists begin Pre-Race Massages
Noon: Children's Races (ages 4 - 12) on High School Track, near Massage Area.
1:00 pm: Main Race. Post Race Sports Massage - young and Main Race Runners
2:15 pm: Medals Awarded. Raffle of donated items.
Massage team breaks down.
What: We will be doing table or chair (your choice) pre and post race
massage treatments .
We will offer both
Sports and Relaxation Massage for a wide range of ages, from
4 year olds to seniors, who will be racing.
Suggested Supplies That Each Therapist Bring To The Race
Massage Table or Massage Chair
Plastic Cover for Massage Table (a shower curtain liner is a good inexpensive choice)
Tape to secure your table's protective plastic covering. Duct tape works well.
Alcohol in a spray bottle to clean your plastic table cover between sweaty runners
Paper Towels for table clean-up
Plastic Trash Bag for your personal trash. Tape it to your table for quick access.
Antibacterial Hand Cleaner to clean your hands between runners
Promotional Materials for your practice, the place where you work, or your school: Business
Cards, Brochures, Discount Coupons, Newsletters, Gift Certificate Donation, etc.
(Bring appropriate holders or weights to keep paper from blowing away in the wind)
Personal: Hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, water, food, snacks, camera, music, etc.
