Where:  The Maynard High School Playing Field / Track. Drive to the intersection of Routes. 117 and  27, in
             Maynard. Look for the stone Field House along Great Road (Route 117).

When:  Sunday, September 20, 2009
Schedule for Massage Therapist Volunteers:

    9:00 -9:45 am: Massage Team sets up under the trees on the Great Road side of the Playing Field,

                    by the stone Field House, across the street from the Boys and Girls Club.

            You can drive up to the Main Gate and unload your gear, and then park your car. If you

                    come early, you may get a parking spot just across the street from the Field

                    House in the Boys and Girls Club parking lot.

            In the event of rain, we will work inside the Boys & Girls Club across the street from the race.

            Come early, network, share and learn from other therapists.

     9:30 - 10:45 am am:  Runner and Walker Registration begins.
     9:45 am:  Sports Massage Demonstration / Refresher.  Review techniques to protect

                    yourself while working. 

              Please be present for the review/demonstration if you have never worked a race

                    before.

    10:00 am: Therapists begin Pre-Race Massages.
    11:00 am: Main Race begins.   Post Race Sports Massage begins as runners finish. 

    12:30 pm: Children's Races (ages 4 - 12) on High School Track, near the Massage Area.

    1:00 pm:  Medals Awarded.  Raffle awards of donated items. 

    1:30 pm:  Massage team breaks down massage area.
What: We will be doing table or chair (your choice) pre and post race massage treatments .
           We will offer both Sports and Relaxation Massage and Assisted Stretching for a wide range of ages,
                     from 4 year olds to seniors, who will be racing.

Suggested Supplies That Each Volunteer Bring To The Race

• Massage Table or Massage Chair (table preferred)

• Plastic Cover for Massage Table  (a shower curtain liner is a good inexpensive choice)

• Tape to secure your table's protective plastic covering. Duct tape works well.

• Alcohol in a spray bottle to clean your plastic table cover between sweaty runners

• Paper Towels for table clean-up

• Plastic Trash Bag for your personal trash. Tape it to your table for quick access.

• Antibacterial Hand Cleaner to clean your hands between runners
  
  Promotional Materials for your private practice, workplace, or your school:  Business
          Cards, Brochures, Discount Coupons, Newsletters, Gift Certificate Donation, etc.
          A large table will be placed next to the entrance to the Massage Area to display your promotional
           materials. (Please bring appropriate holders or weights to keep papers from blowing away in the
           wind)

• Personal:  Hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, water, food, snacks, camera, music, etc.
