About Public Workshops
Workshops are a one-time event, scheduled throughout
the year. They are not on-going.
Workshop material includes detailed explanations, theory and
background of the information and techniques that are being presented.
 Public Workshops present
a variety of topics including stretching and self-pain relief
that is presented in an easy to understand and easy to follow format. No knowledge of
anatomy or physiology is necessary to understand and use the material in these
workshops and still get full benefits.
Other workshops examine Angels and the Spiritual Realm,
and offer ways to better connect with them. Yoga as a healing method is also
offered.
Many Workshops are hands-on, participation
events.
Public Workshops may include printed, illustrated
instructions of the material that was covered in the Workshop. These
instructions allow the participant to continue applying the techniques at home
after learning them in the Workshop.

Workshop is
For: Individuals who experience neck and shoulder pain and/or recurring
headaches. This Workshop is strongly recommended for anyone who spends a lot of
time at a computer, talking on the phone, driving, carrying a heavy back pack, or who works long hours with
their hands and arms thrust in a forward position. The workshop is appropriate for all ages,
young and old.
Workshop description: Learn about the many causes of neck and shoulder pain
and headaches. Learn how to relieve stiff, aching, painful neck and shoulder
muscles that result from overuse and stress. Discover natural alternatives to
pain-killing drugs and pharmaceutical muscle relaxants. The self-maintenance
techniques presented in the workshop will include Active
Isolated Stretching for maintenance, STAR Stretching for pain relief, and a diet
overview. Learn what foods
can ease pain and which foods can make pain worse. Learn helpful, simple changes in your
life-style that can ease pain, and more. Learn prevention strategies. This is a
hands-on, participation workshop and includes take-home information of the material covered in class, with
illustrated instructions.
Instructions: Please wear clothing that will allow you free access to
your neck muscles. A turtleneck will be in the way, and prevent you from getting
the full benefit of the muscle recovery work we will be doing.

Workshop Description: Learn Active Isolated Stretching techniques that are
valuable for athletes participating in any sport that involves running, or
demanding leg work. Learn how to discover and maintain pain free
running. Increase your range-of-motion, flexibility and muscle strength. Quickly
reduce muscle soreness, fatigue and pain. Speed healing from injury and overuse.
Learn how to guarantee fewer future injuries and avoid re-injuries. With these

For: This Workshop is suitable for everybody - individuals of all ages and
all fitness levels who wish to learn compassionate massage techniques that
promote overall better health. These techniques can also offer pain relief and
muscle
maintenance.
This massage work can be used with a spouse, partner, friend, relative or
athletic training partner.
This is an excellent
workshop for parents to do with their children. Children 12 years old and older
are welcome in the Workshop when accompanied by a Parent or Guardian.
The Workshop is also valuable for athletes
who are training together, couples and partners who live together and friends
who want to share healing touch .
Workshop description: This workshop will introduce the student to
numerous massage and body work techniques that can be done anywhere, anytime.
All work will be done through clothing without oil or lotion. Learn safe, simple
techniques to help maintain healthy, flexible, pain-free joints and muscles
while engaging in everyday and/or athletic and other physical activities.
The workshop will include simple Swedish and Sports Massage techniques as
well as assisted stretching techniques.
Supplies and Clothing: This is a hands-on, participation workshop. Please wear loose, unrestricting clothing that
will allow you to move and work freely. Bring a blanket, exercise
mat or sleeping bag to lie on, as most work will be done on the floor

result of overuse and inflammation. This Workshop will be helpful in relieving
pain for those who suffer from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Golfer's Elbow and Tennis

all levels of physical
fitness.
Workshop Description: Sore arms that are the result of extensive computer
work, driving, hand tool work or handwork often feel painful and weak. This

Conditions This Workshop Will Address:
General: Sore, achy feet and lower legs,
tight muscles, poor flexibility.
Specific: Shin Splints, Plantar Fasciitis, Achilles Tendonitis,
heel spurs, fallen arches/overpronation, high
arches/oversupination, compartment syndrome, repeating ankle sprains, nighttime leg cramps,
poor circulation, etc.
What to Bring: Bring an exercise mat, towel or blanket for floor work. Wear shorts or wide bottom

Workshop Description: The Workshop will be both lecture and hands-on
participation. You will learn how and why Active Stretching works. Go away
understanding why Active Stretching is state-of-the-art stretching. You will be
introduced to a basic full-body routine, similar to that offered in the
Full-body Weekly Classes. All Stretches are based on the Active Isolated
Stretching of Aaron Mattes, but also includes some basic dance warm-up stretches
and modified Yoga poses.

Workshop Description:
This class
is for anyone who wants to quickly learn how to have Better Posture. In
this class you will begin by learning the various causes of Poor Posture, some
of which you learned in your early childhood. Learn why “pull your shoulders
back” and “stand up straight” are useless words of advice. In class you will
learn how to recognize the elements of poor posture and poor body mechanics, and
discover how to eliminate poor posture with simple life style changes and fast,
effective transformational exercises. You will discover that years of poor
posture, can be altered, and Better Posture achieved quickly, and then
maintained with relatively little effort. Using simple techniques from the
class, you will stand straighter and taller. You will think more clearly and
creatively. You will understand how poor posture often causes pain, and what you
can do to change that. You will learn how not to instill poor posture
patterns on young, developing children. You will have more energy and have the
knowledge and tools to spot poor posture in yourself and others, and know how to
remedy this to create Better Posture. This class will enable you to be a
disciple of Better Posture, by giving you the tools that enable you to share the
information that will help your family, friends and co-workers gain Better
Posture and a better life.
This class can be beneficial for those of all ages, from children to the
elderly.
Please wear comfortable clothes to the class that will allow you full freedom of
movement.
Minimum Participants: 4

Extra Offering: Before and after this workshop, Barry will offer private
15 minute posture evaluations, and recommend specific exercises and techniques
from the Better Posture Workshop, plus suggest additional strategies to correct
your postural problems.

This workshop is offered for
athletes and other active individuals of all fitness levels, who wish to learn
full body muscle maintenance skills to use with a partner, or use alone. The Workshop is
appropriate for all ages and all levels of experience.
Workshop Description: In this Workshop you will learn safe, simple
techniques that can help you to achieve and maintain healthy, flexible, pain-free
joints and muscles while engaging in athletic and other physical activities.
Learn techniques that you can use to help a training or workout partner or
friend. You will learn how you can speed your partner's muscle growth and recovery.
the Workshop will also teach some effective self-care muscle
maintenance skills as well.
The Workshop will include basic
Sports Massage techniques that can be done anywhere through clothing, plus
partner assisted stretching and pair stretching techniques. You will learn a variety of
muscle maintenance skills that are a workout in itself.
The Workshop will be a hands-on, interactive, participation Workshop. Come
prepared to practice these new muscle maintenance skills on a partner, who will
in turn work on you. You will also learn techniques that you can do on
yourself.
What to Bring: Bring an exercise mat or heavy blanket for work that will be
done on the floor. Wear comfortable, unrestrictive exercise clothing that will
allow you to move without restrictions. (A
changing room is available at the Learning Center)

Workshop Description: Steve Thoman, will begin this workshop with a longer and deeper
Svaroopa® Yoga Class than he offers during his regularly scheduled
Wednesday Svaroopa® Yoga classes.
Among the large number of varieties of Yoga being offered in this
country, Svaroopa® Yoga is perhaps the most gentle and inherently
meditative of any Yoga. Sometimes referred to as “Bliss Yoga”, Svaroopa®
Yoga calms the body as well as the mind, making it the perfect prelude to
a session of deep meditation.
Following the
special two hour Yoga class,
the workshop will shift to learning how to meditate more effectively by having
used the Svaroopa® Yoga class as preparation by relaxing the body,
quieting the mind and drawing attention inward. Then a still pose Meditation
session will be led that will last approximate twenty minutes. It will incorporate props
including blankets and chairs to allow proper individual positioning and comfort
for each meditation student.
Following the meditation session, Steve will entertain questions and
a sharing of the experience by the students.

creating illness and disease.
Illness and disease are messengers of the body,
announcing that something is wrong and needs attention. Chakra Therapy is a

This Angel
Healing Circle is offered to you so that you can experience and benefit from the love and healing power of

Workshop Description:
The purpose of any Angel Blessing Tree is to experience the love and healing
power of the Angels and of course, have fun with the Angels.
The Angel Blessing Tree allows you to
put everyone (family, friends, loved ones, pets and angels) on the tree for
special intentions and extra blessings and love. After the tree is competed,
extra Angels and Reiki will be sent to these individuals.
The Angel Blessings Tree is fun for
everyone -- adults, teens and kids. This experience will show you how to
strengthen and deepen your relationship with your inner self, with others, and
with your angels.

Description: This Workshop will explore the
history of the didgeridoo and the application of Harmonic Therapy as an
effective method of healing using
the didgeridoo.
In addition, Joseph will offer an overview of Shamanic journeying/meditation with
instructions on how to use it in combination with the concept of intention.
After a 20 minute group journey/meditation, process and share, each
workshop member will receive a personalized, mini Harmonic Therapy
session from Joseph (picture at right) who will use a variety of didgeridoos for
treatment personalization.

Workshop Description:
Come and experience the fundamental movement of your own
energetic body as taught for thousands of years in China. Move with force
through simple, basic and repetitive “daily” forms. Feel your grace by
connecting your physical body to your spirit body with T’ai Chi movement. Move
the boundless energies of the Universe with Qigong.
Joseph will also give a clear understanding of how our Meridians, Dan Tiens and
Chakras relate to our energetic being.
Then journey/meditate with the didgeridoo and be in the limitless force of your
graceful and boundless spirit.
The workshop includes 15-20 minutes with each form/technique (basic familiar
movements, Tai Chi and Qi Gong) to explore/feel your body and connect and raise
your energy, followed by 30 minute didgeridoo journey and ending with an open
Q&A/discussion.

For: This workshop is appropriate for all ages.
Workshop Description: In this workshop Joseph will begin with an
overview of the Chakra system of the body, and explain how the didgeridoo
enables him to provide a meditative journey that not only reconnects the mind
with the body, but also allows an individual to journey and meditate within each
Chakra.
From his collection of didgeridoos,
Joseph will use a special slide didgeridoo that has the ability to change key
while he is playing. This is a very uncommon attribute for a didgeridoo. It is
this unique ability to change key that enables Joseph to provide a healing
meditative journey through the Chakras. A 35-40 minute balancing session
(approximately 5 minutes with each Chakra note) will take all the workshop
participants through their musical Chakra Journey.
The workshop will end with a Question
and Answer period.
Participants are encouraged to bring
meditation oils of their preference, or use Chakra balancing oils that will be
provided from our Chakra Balancing Kit.
